What is therapy?
Therapy is a safe, supportive space where you can talk with a licensed mental health professional about what’s going on in your life. Whether you’re dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, family issues or simply feeling stuck, therapy can help you understand yourself better and develop healthy ways to cope and grow.
Do I need therapy?
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, emotionally drained, or just not like yourself—therapy can help. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from it. Therapy is for anyone who wants support, clarity, or tools to navigate life more confidently. If you’re even wondering whether you need therapy, that’s a good sign it might be worth exploring.
Which therapist is a good fit for me?
A good therapist fit is someone you feel comfortable with and supported by. We’re here to help you find a therapist who aligns with your personality, goals, and preferences. Based on the therapist’s profiles, you can have an introductory session with the therapist to check if they are a good fit for you. You can also book a session with another therapist, incase the fit isn’t right. You can also whatsapp us your concern if you need assistance in choosing the right therapist.
How long does therapy take to work?
The length of therapy varies from person to person. Some people benefit from a few months of sessions, while others choose to work with a therapist for years. It depends on your goals, and how deeply you want to journey internally. You’re in control—you and your therapist will regularly check in to see what’s working and when you feel ready to stop or take a break.
Will my therapist prescribe medication?
Therapists (clinical and counselling psychologists) do not prescribe medication. However, if you’re interested in exploring that option, we can refer you to a licensed psychiatrist (medical provider) who does. Medication can be helpful for some people, and it’s often used alongside therapy for the best results.
Is my information safe with the therapist?
Absolutely. Your privacy is very important to us. Everything you share in therapy is confidential and protected by law, with very few exceptions (such as if there’s a risk of harm to yourself or others). We follow all legal and ethical guidelines to ensure your information stays secure and private.
How can i be sure that my therapist is a legitimate professional?
All Sattva Wellness therapists are board-certified licensed mental health professionals with a minimum educational qualification of a Master’s degree in psychology. They undergo regular supervision and training to ensure you receive high-quality, ethical care.
English is not my first language, can I see a therapist in my regional language?
Yes! We offer therapy in six Indian languages, so you can express yourself in the language you’re most comfortable with. Our therapists speak English, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Sindhi and Urdu. Let us know your preference, and we’ll match you with the right therapist.
What kind services do you offer?
- We offer a range of services, including:
- Individual therapy
- Couples therapy
- Corporate mental health support (for teams, leaders, and organizations)
Can I have a session with Pallavi Rajankar?
Pallavi is currently not taking therapy sessions as she is on maternity leave. New slots for therapy are likely to open in 2026. Currently, we offer therapy slots with our Sattva Wellness therapists, who have all been interviewed and selected by Pallavi. All client cases and supervisions are overseen by Pallavi. At Sattva Wellness, we ensure each client gets excellent quality care.
Can i have a free session/introductory call with the therapist?
We do not offer free sessions or introductory calls. The first session with the therapist is designed to help you get to know your therapist and see if it’s the right fit. We take great care in vetting our therapists to ensure you have a great experience!
What are your session timings?
We understand that everyone has different schedules. That’s why we offer sessions:
- On weekends
- During late evenings
- Across multiple time zones
- We’ll work with you to find a time that fits your life.
Can I call my therapist in case of an emergency?
Our therapists are not crisis counselors and are unable to communicate outside of scheduled sessions. This policy helps maintain healthy therapeutic boundaries and prevents emotional dependency. If you’re in immediate danger or need urgent help, please contact a local emergency service or 24×7 crisis helplines given below: AASRA: +91-9820466726
Sneha Foundation: +91 044-24640050
Do you provide therapy over text/chat?
No, we do not offer chat-based therapy. Academic and clinical training for psychologists does not include chat therapy, and research shows that text communication alone is not effective for therapeutic outcomes. For your well-being, we recommend video sessions for meaningful and evidence-based support.
Do you offer therapy to minors?
Yes, there’s no age limit to consult with a psychologist on our team. However, for clients under 18, we require a consent letter or acknowledgment from a responsible adult. This adult doesn’t have to be a parent or guardian but must be someone authorized to provide consent. Let us know if this applies to you, and we’ll share the details for the letter.
What if i cancel last minute or dont show up?
We understand that plans can change, but please note:
- No-shows (not showing up for your session, without prior notice) are non-refundable.
- Last-minute cancellations or reschedules made less than 24 hours of your appointment time will incur a 50% fee.
- Rescheduling a day in advance is permitted at no additional cost.
- Our therapists reserve your session time just for you, our policy is to respect the therapist’s time and honour your commitment to a consistent and accountable therapy journey. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
